How do I win the first project as a Freelancer?

Open 1 Answers 88 Views Internet and Telecom
I'm new to freelancing, despite having years of experience in programming. I can't stand the competition from the freelancing giants. How do I manage to win my first project? I have good testimonials, good communication skills etc. Is there any foolproof method?

Good question,

  • Offer value in your solutions which are unique, do not be another bloke down the street.
  •
  • While responding to proposals, give clear answers to questions asked for, if the customer asks for estimates, tell him how much would you charge /. hour and how many hours do you need to finish this task.
  •
  • Follow up with the client and ask if there is any concerns in your bid that is worrying the customer.
  •
  • Go extra mile when you get the first order to satisfy the customer and get the first order.
  •
  • Have a good communication with the potential customers, be polite, answer promptly and answer to the point.
  •
  • Be flexible in deliverables , deliver ahead of time to get goodwill of customers
  •
  • Offer a free extra, e.g., if the customer asks for a gig you offer him a free extra gig if he gives you a positive response. freebies always sell.
  •
  • Be patient it takes time to build up profile and customer base. The bigwigs did not become one on a single day.
  •
  • All the best
